Switch between open tabs in your mobile Chrome browser by swiping across the address bar. You can swipe one tab in either direction and it's intuitive once you try it. Check the photo and gif for a demonstration.
Using this same idea, you can swipe from the edge of the screen to move one page back or forward in your browser history.
If you remember that swiping from the edge of the screen used to be the shortcut to switch between tabs, you're right. Chrome added the browser history feature but didn't mention that they'd kept the old feature unless you looked for it (really hard).
It works in iOS and it works in Android 5.0 (Lollipop) and higher as long as you haven't merged your tabs and apps.
